Refurbishment project in Rock, Cornwall

A full property refurbishment with a focus on comfort, flow, and modern living

This project was all about taking a tired property and turning it into a bright, functional, and stylish home that could be enjoyed all year round.

It began with the removal of an outdated single-storey conservatory, which had become impractical — far too hot in the summer and far too cold in the winter. In its place, we built a solid brick extension, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Large sliding doors and skylights were added to bring in plenty of natural light, while maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature, making the space usable whatever the season.

Inside, we carried out a complete refurbishment of the property. Every room was stripped back and given a fresh start, with three stunning new bathrooms and a bespoke kitchen fitted to the highest standard.

During the works, we discovered the entire ground floor was rotten, so we removed it completely and laid a brand-new concrete base, ensuring the home had a strong and lasting foundation.

Modern efficiency was a key part of this project too. We removed the old oil tank heating system and replaced it with a state-of-the-art air source heat pump. This not only provides reliable heating and hot water but also makes the property far more energy-efficient and sustainable.

To improve the flow of the house, we extended the entrance, creating a more welcoming and practical layout that better suits modern family living.

Outside, the transformation continued across the gardens. Both the front and back were fully landscaped, with all new planting carefully chosen to complement the property. To create more lifestyle spaces, we added a luxury outdoor sauna and a summer house at the bottom of the garden — perfect for relaxation and entertaining throughout the year. A brand-new dry stone wall was also built to define the garden, adding traditional character with a timeless finish.

To future-proof the home, we also installed an EV charger, making the property ready for the shift toward electric vehicles. Every aspect of the build was carefully considered to balance modern living with traditional quality, resulting in a property that not only looks stunning but is practical, comfortable, and sustainable for years to come.
